This picture is a good example of the great depression because it shows how hard people needed to work for just alittle bit of money, some time they only made a dollar for all the hard work. Also some times they had so little money they couldnt afford food so they needed to grow their own food. The great depression was a hard time to have a family.

In this photo you can see two african american people working on a farm. They have to do a lot of work and hardly get paid anything. They work every day and would probably make only 50 dollars in a entire year. As you can see both woman and men worked onthe fields and many times children and whole families would need to work so that they can make a little more money to feed everyone.

In this photo there are four children. Their mom is white and their father is black, since they dont look african american they arent placed with the negros. But the white community will not accept them.

Part 2 B:

00199r.jpg
This is a photo showing racial discrimination. In the photo a african american man must wait at the "colored waiting room" for his bus. It is wrong that african americans must wait for a bus at a different location then white people.

Much like the "colored waiting room" white people were told to wait in the "white waiting room" away from the african american people.

As you can see in the photo, African Americans and white people were not allowed to use the same bathrooms. As you can see by the sign on the door, "white ladies only" it is showing how only white woman could use that bathroom.

Part 3 A:

All of the people that were interviewed dont have much money. They are all hard working people who work hard every single day just to get a small sum of money to live. Some of the people who really show what im talking about are, Mrs. Marie, Mr. Garavelli, Alic Caudle. Mr. Garavelli is a stonecutter and he works hard, many stone cutters die from silica His job is dangerous and tough but he must work every day to make enough money to live. Another hard worker was Mrs. Marie, she was a maid and a nurse she had multiple duties to do and she worked hard at doing them. Almost everybody works even children. During the great depression it was hard to live because you were only paid a few coins if that. Any money you made probably went to buying food.
